Colorado Data Sharing Network Project
Project Description
CDSN Project Objectives
To establish a water quality data management system that meets the needs of Colorado’s NPS Grant Program and local data providers (manages input, output and simple manipulations for monitoring results). This is the AWQMS database. Online at the Colorado Data Sharing Newtork web site: http://www.coloradowaterdata.org/awqmsportal.html
Support and maintain web-based map to compliment the data management system that shares monitoring locations and water data. This is the Google-map utility. Online at the Colorado Data Sharing Network web site: http://www.coloradowaterdata.org/webmap.html
Establish a directory to share contact information of water data users and generators throughout the state, monitoring objectives, what is being monitored and how. This objective is being accomplished through the development of the "Colorado Water Data User/Generator Directory".
To actively nurture use of the system state-wide.
To implement a sustainable strategy for future support and use.

The CDSN project has completed a multi-year transition from the decommissioned STORET database to a WQX compatible database. We have a new, more powerful, and increasingly user-friendly toolkit to submit and retrieve data from the CDSN project database. This new database and tool kit is called AWQMS (Ambient Water Quality Monitoring System). We have a wish-list of enhancements we are looking for funding to accomplish.
CDSN offers trainings, tutoring, webinars, and custom data formatting and upload/download training. The CWQMC also offers mentoring through the Mentoring Committee. Please contact the Project Coordinators to learn about these opportunities and to explore uploading your data into the database. The database has the ability to store water quality, biological, and stream habitat data.
